Attorney John Blevins is a native of Southeastern, Kentucky. He attended the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky, where he studied Political Science and Religion. Upon graduation from Cumberlands Mr. Blevins attended the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) School of Law, graduating with the degree of Juris Doctor.
In 2014 attorney John Blevins teamed up with Brandon Baird to form Baird and Blevins Law Offices, PLLC with the mission of helping injured people in Southeastern Kentucky. The firm achieved immediate success and by 2016 both John Blevins and Brandon Baird were inducted as lifetime members of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates forum for their work. In 2019 Mr. Blevins was hired to be the school board attorney for the McCreary County School District. The firm practiced as Baird, Blevins, & Lowe Law Offices, PLLC from 2018 until 2026, and today practices as Baird & Blevins Law Offices, PLLC.
Mr. Blevins serves as General Counsel to the Commonwealth of Kentucky State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors, advising the board on licensing, regulatory enforcement, disciplinary proceedings, administrative regulation, and the statutory framework governing funeral establishments and licensed professionals in Kentucky.
Mr. Blevins practices heavily in education law and serves as board attorney for five Kentucky school districts: McCreary County School District, Wayne County School District, Jackson County School District, Barbourville Independent Schools, and Cumberland County School District. In that role he advises superintendents and boards of education on board governance, Open Meetings and Open Records compliance, certified and classified personnel matters and tribunal hearings, student discipline and due process, special education and Section 504 compliance, Title IX, construction and procurement contracts, policy development under KRS Chapters 160 and 161, and litigation and administrative appeals on behalf of districts.
Mr. Blevins has been married to his wife Savannah since 2007, and they have two children. In his spare time Mr. Blevins enjoys spending times with his family and traveling.
